Yandin Wind Farm
The Yandin Wind Farm, located in Dandaragan, Western Australia, is a renewable energy project with 51 turbines generating 4.2MW each. The wind farm is expected to produce more renewable energy than any other wind farm operating in Western Australia, powering about 200,000 households annually. It is connected to the electricity grid through a new 10-kilometre transmission line, built and operated by Western Power. The turbines at the wind farm are among the largest in Australia, and despite their size, they only occupy about 0.03% of the project site, allowing farming and existing land uses to co-exist.
Warradarge Wind Farm
The Warradarge Wind Farm, a significant renewable energy project in Western Australia, was completed in late 2020. With an output of 180 MW, it can meet the average annual electricity needs of about 144k West Australian homes. The wind farm comprises 51 large turbines supplied and constructed by Vestas, 55 km of new gravel roads, 117 km of underground cabling, and 51 foundations requiring 480m³ of concrete.
